The operational rules every shooter needs to know before stepping on the line.

Read this first

Check your ATA address

Make sure your ATA address is correct. Money you win is mailed to the address you have on file with the ATA, not the address on your plastic card.

Don't leave them behind

Pick up trophies by Sunday

Available in the club house Fri / Sat / Sun, 12:00 – 5:00. We are not able to mail trophies.

On the line

Targets & Scoring

  • Targets: Solid Orange White Flyer targets thrown on all fields.
  • Doubles: Shot in 2 sub-events of 25 pairs each.
  • Check your score every 5 targets. Any single score not clearly marked DEAD (X or /) or lost (O) will be counted as a lost target.
  • Class advances: In all events with class advances, every shooter (regardless of category) whose score equals or exceeds the class champion's score is advanced in the next like event. No class advances until the start of the first HOA event.
  • Yardage punches: If you earn yardage in any Handicap event, report to the Handicap chairman (or designee) for your punch before the start of the next Handicap event.
  • HOA / HAA trophies are based on classification at sign-up.

  • Re-squad Fee

    If you miss your squad or want to re-squad (not when it's management's fault). You'll be placed on the same bank as your original squad.

By entering the competition, every person agrees to accept all official decisions and to abide by ATA rules. By the act of classifying and participating, each person has indicated they assume and accept full responsibility for themselves and their minor children, for bodily injury, death, or loss of personal property and expenses because of inherent risks and dangers.

Eligibility & ammunition

Rules & Eligibility

  • PITA cross-registration is available and encouraged. All shooters are invited to attend the Nevada State Shoot.
  • Added money in this shoot is open to all shooters unless otherwise stated in the program.
  • Reloads may be used throughout the tournament provided they conform to ATA regulations. All shells are subject to inspection. Any shooter using non-ATA-compliant ammunition will be disqualified and forfeit entry fees, purses, and options.
  • Non-Resident Shooters — make sure your state of origin is recorded properly on your entry cards to be eligible for out-of-state awards.

On the fields

Field Etiquette & Extras

  • Empty shells — in search of parity and protection, no one is allowed to pick up empty shells on the trap fields. Transfer them directly from your gun to your pouch.
  • Commemorative pin — a special pin has been designed for this year's State Shoot and will be given to everyone who enters.

Management rights

  • Management reserves the right to refuse any entry or disqualify anyone who interferes with or disturbs the harmony of the shoot.
  • The NSTA reserves the right to modify this shoot if necessary.
